Children’s Community Eye Service
We are ophthalmologists, optometrists, and orthoptists who specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions. Our service helps children and young people up to the age of 16 years (up to 19 years in special education), living in Bedfordshire and Luton. Orthoptists are allied health professionals who use non-surgical methods to diagnose and treat abnormalities of vision and co-ordination of eye movements in people of all ages. We deliver:
- Specialist ophthalmic and orthoptic services - For children and young adults.
- Specialist clinics for children with special needs - Seen at the Child Development Centre in Bedford and special schools.
- School vision screening – All Reception classes
