1st Bedfordshire Inclusive Girlguiding Unit (BIGG)

1st Bedfordshire Inclusive Girlguiding Unit is solely for girls aged 4-18 with additional needs. BIGG is a combined unit of Rainbows (4-7 years), Brownies (7-10 years), Guides (10-14 years) and Rangers (14-18 years) and we all meet together.

We meet on a Saturday morning for two hours, once a month in a lower school hall in Leighton Buzzard.  We have no catchment area and welcome members from many different locations.  Our girls proudly wear their unform for their section and we follow the national Girlguiding Programme. We adapt the programme based on our girls needs and interests providing a variety of fun, sensory and practical activities where our girls can regularly earn badges, certificates and awards.

We have regular outings and are often invited to join in District and Division events.

Parents attend with their girls often as their 1-1 support but lots of parents join in perhaps  running an activity table, making the tea or enjoying a chat with other parents. Please also get in touch if you have any questions about the unit or would like to discuss how we can accommodate your daughter’s needs.

We look forward to hearing from you and your daughter soon.
