The Communications Trust

The Communication Trust

The Communication Consortium is a membership body made up of more than 35 community and voluntary sector (not for profit) organisations which support children’s speech, language and communication development.  This can be either for all children or children with particular speech, language and communication needs.

The Trust has an extensive advisory group including the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, Association of Educational Psychologists, and the General Teaching Council. Working together we support everyone who works with children and young people in England to support their speech, language and communication.

The purpose of the Consortium is to:

  • Share information, insight and intelligence concerning developments in the speech, language and communication sector
  • Share examples of best practice amongst Members at Consortium meetings
  • Work together to make submissions to government or sector consultations when it is felt a sector-wide response would be beneficial
  • Work together to present a sector voice when it is felt necessary or beneficial to do so

The Communication Trust is now fully operated and managed by I CAN.
